Karen Fossdal

I am a young, rising Icelandic actress currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and an alumna of CISPA – Copenhagen International School of Performing Arts, Class of 2026.

Having trained extensively under Lars Henning and Maebrit Saerens, I am a skilled method actress, stage performer, and artist known for my bold, precise, and nuanced acting style.

Beyond my core training, I have further honed my craft under the guidance of Pierangelo Pompa, an Italian director specialized in Experimental and Flow Movement Theatre, and have studied Italian Commedia dell’Arte under Stefano Muroni at Tenda Summer School.

My practical experience ranges from various independent projects and extra roles in movies to theatre performances at Teaterøen, Brønshøj Vandtårn, and Copenhagen Tycho Brahe Planetarium.

In addition to acting, I also have a strong background in professional dance and hold a black belt in Taekwondo, bringing discipline, fluidity, and athleticism to my performances.

My approach to acting is deeply influenced by the Yat Malmgren/Laban–Malmgren technique of Movement Psychology, a method that links psychological motivation to physical expression.

This technique shapes my work at all times, enabling me to create performances that are both emotionally authentic and physically compelling.
